ARBOTRADE at the Tharandt Future Day

We had an exhibition stand and a workshop at the Tharandt Future Day - the careers fair for forestry students at TU Dresden with over 50 exciting exhibitors.

Successful tests with ARBOTRADE tree shelters by RP Tübingen

A leaking fence on a 3-hectare reforestation area posed a challenge for the Regional Council Tübingen. At the beginning of 2024, 700 ARBOTRADE tree shelters were installed and closely monitored to enable a long-term cost comparison between fence construction and individual protection - here are the impressive interim results of our biodegradable tree shelter after six months:

• 0 % failures - despite late frost in April
• Average growth: 100 cm
• Maximum growth: 180 cm
  Our growing sleeve offers sustainable protection and promotes vigorous growth. A comprehensive report is available in the appendix.

Planting campaign by the composer Martin Kohlstedt

Our biodegradable tree shelter supported the 5th reforestation campaign organised by composer Martin Kohlstedt in southern Thuringia. Together with over 50 volunteers, 750 trees were planted and protected. With ‘The Forest’ project, Martin Kohlstedt and his brother want to make a contribution to climate protection by planting climate-stable mixed forests. The planting campaigns are made possible by his music and volunteers.

Visit from the Mössingen municipal council

At the end of October, we welcomed part of the Mössingen municipal council to a planting area in Bodelshausen and informed them about our growing envelope. Important topics were, of course, the sustainability of our biodegradable growing envelope, the development history of the growing envelope in the research project ‘TheForestCleanup’ and forest reorganisation in the face of climate change.

ARBOTRADE at the Forstverein conference

To mark the 125th anniversary of the German Forestry Association (DFV), over 1,000 participants met in Fulda for the multi-day Forestry Association Conference with 26 seminars and over 80 expert speakers. Together with the research project ‘TheForestCleanup’, the biodegradable ARBOTRADE growth cover was presented to the expert audience in the ‘Forest Innovation’ seminar.

Peter Hauk visits ARBOTRADE

"You have solved a problem that has existed for decades", summarised Peter Hauk, MdL, Minister for Food, Rural Areas and Consumer Protection, during his visit to ARBOTRADE. ARBOTRADE Supports Fundraising Campaign

On 30 March, the Essingen branch of the German Red Cross appealed for blood donations under the slogan "Doing double the good" and promised to plant a tree for every donor. On 20 April, they fulfilled this promise by planting 250 trees for 250 blood donations. ARBOTRADE supported the initiative by providing discounted biodegradable Tree Shelters and a forest sign. Our bio-Tree Shelters not only help protect the trees planted, but also support sustainable projects like this one.

SDW Kreisverband Rems-Murr e.V. Visits TECNARO

On March 1st, the Rems-Murr district branch of the Schutzgemeinschaft Deutscher Wald (SDW) visited TECNARO. The participants were introduced to TECNARO materials and the ARBOTRADE Tree Shelter. The tour of TECNARO provided a comprehensive understanding of their innovative work, from testing technical properties to final shaping, and highlighted environmentally friendly products such as our biodegradable Tree Shelters.

FNR Showcases ARBOTRADE Tree Shelter at Grüne Woche

ARBOTRADE Tree Shelters in the Cooperation Project "Here Grows the Future"

On 19 November, the Ilsfeld youth fire brigade supported the "Here grows the future" cooperation project. Together with forester Maike Muth and 20 young firefighters, 11 hectares of forest were treated. Spruce trees infested by bark beetles were felled and 1,874 new trees were planted. The young people removed plastic Tree Shelters and replaced damaged shelters with ARBOTRADE Tree Shelters. By using our biodegradable Tree Shelters, we contribute to the sustainable management of the forest and the protection of the newly planted trees.

Sarah Schweizer visits

ARBOTRADE GmbH, headquartered in Ilsfeld, Germany, was registered with the Stuttgart District Court on 2 June. The shareholders are TECNARO Gesellschaft zur industriellen Anwendung nachwachsender Rohstoffe mbH and JOMA-POLYTEC GmbH. Jürgen Pfitzer, Helmut Nägele and Johannes Maute have been appointed as managing directors of ARBOTRADE GmbH. Our company specialises in the production of biodegradable Tree Shelters.

On Thursday 24 March, 33 students from Steinbeis-Realschule Ilsfeld set out to plant 225 trees for the forest of tomorrow!
