Our biodegradable ARBOTRADE Tree Shelter Basic is made from the award-winning, partially bio-based material ARBOBLEND. The Tree Shelters are fully biodegradable when in contact with the soil under forest conditions. With a lifespan of approximately 4 years (depending on location), our Tree Shelter provides long-lasting protection.

The biodegradable ARBOTRADE Tree Shelter Basic offers the same environmental benefits as the ARBOTRADE Tree Shelter Premium, with the exception of the lower bio-based content.
Functionality
Transport
The ARBOTRADE biodegradable Tree Shelter is delivered flat to save space. With a weight of approximately 260 g, many Tree Shelters can be transported at once. The material is both strong and flexible and requires no special handling.
Assembly
The ARBOTRADE biodegradable Tree Shelter can be assembled in about 30 seconds. The tabs are pressed into the holes from the outside and secured to the support post with cable ties.
Internal climate
The closed structure of the ARBOTRADE biodegradable Tree Shelter creates a growth-promoting internal climate. Ventilation holes prevent the plants from overheating.
Light transmission
The biodegradable ARBOTRADE Tree Shelter is characterised by above average light transmission. This promotes successful plant establishment.
Browsing protection
The biodegradable ARBOTRADE Tree Shelter provides protection against browsing for at least 5 years, depending on the location.
Assembling the Tree Shelter in four steps
- Transportation
Due to its light weight, the ARBOTRADE Tree Shelter can be transported to the stands in large numbers.
- Shaping into round form
The tabs are pressed into the holes from the outside to form the Tree Shelter into a round shape.
- Attaching cable ties loosely
The ARBOTRADE Cable Ties are threaded through the holes provided and tightened loosely.
Tip:
We recommend that you prepare several shelters up to step 3 and then attach them to the seedling in step 4.
- Attaching the Tree Shelter
Position the Tree Shelter over the seedling and thread the cable ties over the support post and tighten them securely. The zip ties will now hold the Tree Shelter in its round shape and secure it to the support post.
